Saturn moves into Scorpio on 21st October 2014 and becomes retrograde on 15th March 2015 turning direct on 2nd August. During 2016 Saturn is retrograde from 26th March to 13th August entering Sagittarius on 12th January 2017.Turning retrograde once again in Sagittarius on 7th April 2017, Saturn re-enters Scorpio on 12th July 2017 for another spell in Scorpio for about three months from 12th July to 8th October 2017. Becoming direct on 25th August 2017, Saturn leaves Scorpio to enter Sagittarius on 8th October 2017.
Sade Sati Effects Cycle .
In North India, there is a belief that the adverse effects of Sade Sati are effective only for chosen fixed periods for selected Janma Rasis. The scheme is like this: Taurus, Leo, Virgo, Capricorn – the first 2 ½ years; Aries and Cancer – the middle 2 ½ years; Gemini, Libra and Aquarius – the last 2 ½ years; Scorpio and Pisces – the last 5 years and Sagittarius- the first 5 years..
During the present transit of Saturn in Scorpio, only Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius will be coming under the influence of Sade Sati effects. Those born in Virgo Rasi can get fully rid of their Sade Sati effects, of which they were under the spell, so far. As only the last 2 ½ years are crucial for Librans, and the last 5 years for Scorpios, and the first 5 years for Sagittarians, all of them will be in a disadvantageous position. However, it will not cause much harm to Sagittarius natives as it is only an Ubhayarasi or common sign. As the Libra Rasi natives have already undergone the Janmasani period and Sagittarians are yet to get it, the present transit of Saturn, in Scorpio, will not affect them very adversely. Therefore striking a balance, Librans and Sagittarians can heave a sigh of relief that the present transit will not be too harsh on any of them.
For Leos, the impending transit of Saturn will cause Ardhashtamasani or Kantakasani which can bring bad effects like loss of spouse or wealth. For Arians, it will be Ashtamasani, with Saturn in the 8th that can cause, according to Varahamihira, neglect by spouse or children, forced menial duties, and depravation of character.
Conventionally, this transit is good only for Virgos, Gcmini’s and Capricornian’s as Saturn is transiting their 3rd, 6th, and 11th places respectively. Though it is bad for Aquarians, the transit may not affect them much, as Saturn becomes the Rasi lord. The above scenario will change if the Moorthi Nirnaya scheme is taken into account. Saturn, as the Rajatha Moorthi can score fully, and for Tambara Moorthi, Loha Moorthi, and Swarna Moorthi, the score will be 3/4, l/2, and l/4, respectively.
Phaladeepika explains how a planet in transit can affect the Bhava from which it happens to be in the 8th. According to this, Saturn in Scorpio can give the following results to those born under different Ascendants:-.
Aries – Health hazards or emaciation of body;
Taurus – Fruitless travels and afflictions to paternal grandfather or maternal grandmother;
Gemini-Afflictions to paternal uncle or aunt;
Cancer – Troubles from authorities;
Leo – Affliction to father, master or employer; Virgo – General health problems;
Libra – Affliction to spouse;
Scorpio – Trouble from enemies, afflictions to maternal aunt ,uncle or maternal relations;
Sagittarius – Affliction to children or problems caused by them;
Capricorn – Affliction to parents or conveyances;
Aquarius – Affliction to father-in-law;
Pisces – Decline of wealth, possessions, income and strained relations with family members.
There is just such an alignment currently happening, though the placements are not close enough to be astrologically significant right at the moment. In my experience, you need planets to be within 3-5 degrees of each other to consider this a conjunction (other astrologers may beg to differ, to each their own). These planets right now range from Jupiter at 18′ Virgo to the Moon at 13′ Libra.
In a natal chart, It would depend a lot on what house these planets are transiting in, and what aspect if any natal planets the stellium (a collection of three or more planets in one sign or house) makes to other planets in both the natal chart and the transiting chart. All that analysis is one reason an astrological reading is so costly! (laugh). It takes a lot of time to nail all that stuff down, and you can never be sure you haven’t missed something.
Without that information, I wouldn’t be able to say where, if at all, something might manifest. Generally speaking such an aspect would be fortunate in love, romance, possibly in money. Venus and Jupiter are “lucky” while Mars brings energy and the Moon sensitivity. The Virgo/Libra energy makes healthcare, relationships, daily work and income possible beneficiaries of a boost of creative and positive energy right now. Where this falls in your chart would give an indicator of the area of life most likely to benefit.
Wednesday morning the Scorpio Moon flows into trine with Neptune retrograde in Pisces. This is a marker of eroticism or enhanced ability to feel the truth above and below the mundane. Scorpio Mars closely trines retrograde Chiron; this goes all the way from sexual/physical healing to etheric wisdom and understanding. At the same time, the Cancer Sun forms a grand trine with Mars and Chiron – the last grand water trine of Cancer season, also powerful.
The Scorpio mood is tied to the divination of the need for change. It’s tuned in to a sense of impending transformation. With the Sun trine Mars and both aspecting Uranus, it’s possible to land on a way to strategically traverse the middle ground of tradition and innovation. Stay the same or BOOM-bust out? Somewhere there’s another route and it’s beneath the obvious. The situation can be manipulated to make the most of both energies.
That energy is active but open-ended for now: no need to rush in.
By the end of the day, Mercury moves from Cancer to Leo, to square Juno in Scorpio and conjunct Venus. Consider what’s possible, particularly as contrasted against what exists as a power structure. Creative solutions begin to take shape. This echos the tradition/innovation conundrum with the addition of positive, life-affirming thinking.
It’s definitely something to mull over rather than jump on. For the next week Venus and Mercury move together through Leo and into trine with Saturn (retrograde). It’s not procrastination; it’s waiting for ideal plans and timing to emerge. It’s an investment, not a race.
By nighttime the Moon winds up in sextile to Pluto with Mars between them, well-aspected. Passions stirred now can lead to deep satisfaction in action. Sweet nothings catch fire with the lingering Venus-Juno tension. Not everything has to stay “nicey-nice” to make the cut for pleasure.
